178. Is there state funding available for schools who have ESL students but can't afford to hire someone.

ALL school districts receive additional funding depending on the number of non- and limited-English-speaking students they have. Dr. Andre L. Guerrero is the person within the Arkansas Department of Education who can best tell you exactly how much money, and for what purposes, and how you can help your district utilize that money to best serve your English Learners --as non- and limited-English-proficient students are usually called.   Recently I had the extraordinary opportunity to help one very eager and competent Migrant Education teacher secure an English-As-A-Second Language instructional aide position from her district's Board of Education. Dr. Andre L. Guerrero is very much aware of the wonderful efforts this dedicated teacher devoted to achieving her goal of serving her students. Dr. Guerrero probably can help you, too, provide the needed --and required-- instructional program for your students. I am sure he will contact you ASAP. THANKS for your total commitment to helping ALL your students.
